Pakistan’s most competitive and rigorous examination is already announced for the next year. The Central Superior Services, also called, Civil Superior Services (CSS) is a tough-to-crack examination that empowers the qualifying candidates to join the bureaucracy and drive Pakistan’s executive wheel.
Conducted by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), the schedule for the examination for CSS 2023 is already announced. The schedule for CSS 2023 is uploaded to the FPSC’s website at CSS 2023 Advanced Public Notice. As the civil services include the cream of the crops, the eligibility of candidates for all CSS exams including CSS 2023 includes a candidate having at least 2nd Division in Bachelor’s degree and is between the age of twenty-one to thirty years on the cut-off date 31.12.2022 are eligible to apply. The FPSC provides Two Years Age Relaxation under CSS CE Rule 2019 for various candidates.
In the year 2022, the CSS examination started the first-of-its-kind Multiple Choice Test formally known as MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT) of 200 marks. Students must score the passing marks of 66/200 to qualify for the written examination of CSS. For the year 2023, the MPT is once again introduced which remains a filtration mechanism for picking the most learned aspirants to be inducted to the central superior services 2023 fraternity. The marks division of the MPT for CSS 2023 includes 20 marks for Islamic Studies (Civic Ethics for Non-Muslims), 20 for Urdu, 50 scores for English including vocabulary, grammar usage, and comprehension, and 60 points for General Abilities such as Basic Arithmetic, Algebra, and Mental Abilities and 50 MCQs of General Knowledge including Everyday Science, Current Affairs, and Pakistan affairs. It is important to note for an aspirant that there is no negative marking in the MPT and the student has to secure at least 33% or 66/200 for his/her written attempt. On the other hand, if an aspirant gives MPT exam and does not appear in the CSS 2023 written examination, the chance will not be counted as per the FPSC CSS 2023 guidelines.

· Advertisement for MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2023 on 7th August 2022 (Sunday)
· Online Applications for MCQs Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2023 from 8th to 22nd August 2022
· Conduct of MPT & Posting of Answer Key on FPSC Website on 2nd October 2022 (Sunday)
· Announcement of MPT Result on 17th October 2022
· Advertisement for CSS Written Exam CE 2023 on 30th October 2022 (Sunday)
· Receipt of online applications from MPT Qualifiers from 30th October to 14th November 2022
· Receipt of Hardcopy of online applications along with documents from MPT Qualifiers Until 24th November 2022
· CSS Written Examination-2023 (commencement date) on 1st February 2023 (Wednesday)
The schedule is an intimation from the FPSC for the aspirants to start burning the midnight oil for the most prestigious examination of Pakistan CSS 2023. With the ending of CSS 2022 in May 2022, the advert of CSS 2023 is welcoming news for the hardworking civil services aspirant as the schedule of the exams is re-routed to the old schedule i.e., commencement in February.
