Though it is necessary for pre-medical students to submit their domicile of Punjab province along with other documents in order to be eligible to appear in MDCAT, it does not mean that the students belonging to other parts of Pakistan can not take admission in medical colleges of Punjab. Given below are the details of the number of seats specified for students from different areas of Pakistan.
There are a total of 36 seats reserved for students having domicile of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Students can appear in the State entry test conducted by the government of AJK and apply for these reserved seats on the basis of this test score, their matric, and FSc score.
The number of seats reserved for students having domicile of Gilgit Baltistan in the public sector medical colleges of Punjab is fifty-five (55). However, the students are required to appear for MDCAT conducted by the UHS and this MDCAT score will be considered for admission.
A total of twenty seats are specified for students belonging to the province of Balochistan, in addition to the four reciprocal seats for Balochistan students. Students that belong to Balochistan province, will apply on these seats on the basis of their score in the provincial entry test of Balochistan, FSc, and matric.
There are seven seats reserved for the students belonging to the federally administered tribal areas as per the UHS rules and regulations for the year 2017-18. The distribution of these 7 seats is as follows:
1. KEMU: 1
2. AIMC: 1
3. NMU (Nishtar medical university): 1
4. FJMU: 1
5. FMU (Faisalabad medical university): 1
6. RMU (Rawalpindi medical university): 1
7. QAMC (Quaid e Azam medical college): 1
The students are required to appear in the Admission test of KPK province and on the basis of this score, they can apply for admission on these seats in Punjab.
One seat has been reserved for students belonging to Cholistan region. This one seat has been reserved in Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim yar khan. Such a candidate should otherwise be eligible for admission into Medical College (having passed F.Sc from any of the districts Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur or Rahim Yar Khan and passed Entry Test in accordance with the required percentage. The candidate must be Cholistani by birth and should have an actual residence in the Cholistan, as verified by Cholistan Development Authority.
There are four reciprocal seats in for the students of Balochistan and only one reciprocal seat for students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The candidates must have the domicile of these respective provinces and can apply on the basis of their score in the respective entry tests of their province.
Reciprocal seats for Balochistan: 4
-1 in Allama Iqbal medical college
-2 in Nishtar medical university
-1 in Quaid e Azam medical college
Reciprocal seats for KPK: 1 in Nishtar medical university
