Since you’ve recently passed your matriculation, you might be wondering what to do next. Hundreds of thousands of students across Pakistan had appeared in the matriculation examination this year - many have already set their goals through discussions with their parents, friends, or teachers, but there are still thousands of students who do not have the idea about if they should go for F.Sc Pre-Engineering subjects or Pre-Medical ones, FA, ICS, or ICOM.
Out of them, there are thousands of students who have decided to go for F.Sc but don’t know whether they should go for the Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical group. Out of these students, there are many who have chosen Pre-Engineering as their F.Sc group but are not completely aware of its list of subjects. Here, we will share the complete details of the F.Sc Pre-Engineering subjects’ list to answer all your questions regarding surviving these 2 years of Intermediate studies.

Just like matriculation, F.Sc is a 2-year long program with two different parts. Some would call them F.Sc Part 1 and F.Sc Part 2, while the others would call it F.Sc 1st Year and F.Sc 2nd Year. So, whether it’s Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical, this academic program is 2 years long.
Every academic year has a set of compulsory and elective subjects. The elective subjects are the ones that are necessary for you to study before jumping to the next grade. So, if you’re in the group of Pre-Engineering in F.Sc, you will be required to study and pass the subjects that are necessary to secure admission in an engineering program like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. However, if you’re in the group of Pre-Medical in F.Sc, you need to study science subjects like Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
On the other hand, the compulsory subjects are those that you have to study for general understanding and grooming. For example, you study English so you could speak, understand, and write English as it’s considered necessary in our education system. Just like this one, there are other subjects like Urdu, Pakistan Studies, Islamiyat, etc. to groom you and improve your knowledge as a Pakistani and a Muslim.
The subjects in F.Sc Pre-Engineering are highly competitive in terms of one’s practical experience. If you’ve found the practical subjects during your matriculation easy, then the ones in F.Sc Pre-Engineering will be very challenging. However, apart from being competitive, these subjects are filled with fun! The following two are the practical subjects in F.Sc Pre-Engineering.
1. Physics
2. Chemistry
There will be specific days in a week when the lectures of these lab subjects shall be held and those days are going to be your favorite ones. The lab will allow you to experiment and learn new things that have fascinated you since childhood like breaking one of your toys and powering a small DC motor that comes out of it, lighting a little LED with a AA 1.5V battery, and a lot more things. In F.Sc Pre-Engineering Part 1 and Part 2, you will learn some advanced techniques that will keep you flexing around your friends.
Imagine a student who has graduated from his university as a Mechanical Engineer and is now looking for a job. During his academic years, he only paid attention to theoretical learning and paid zero of it to practical learning. Will his theoretical knowledge be enough to reward him with a job? No!
For securing a job or starting your own business, theoretical knowledge isn’t enough. You need to have practiced your theoretical knowledge so you know how things actually work.
There’s a difference between ideal conditions and real-world conditions.
For example, in a numerical problem of Physics, if you find that the voltage of a battery is 12V, do you think that a 12 V battery will give you exactly 12 Volts in the real world? No, there are other factors that affect its value such as ions in the air, impurity in a cell, and a lot more. Practical knowledge is necessary to have because it helps you solve problems or manage them according to real-world conditions, not ideal-world ones.
Theoretical knowledge is equally important because if you don’t have it, you cannot perform practical experiments at all. To gain a superduper A+ in your F.Sc Pre Engineering and be capable enough to secure admission to your dream university, you need to be sharp at both; theoretical and practical approaches.
Once you’ve passed the subjects in the F.Sc Pre-Engineering group and don’t want to pursue your academics in Bachelors, you’ll probably be looking for some short courses. There are no courses designed specifically for the students who have passed F.Sc Pre-Engineering. You don’t need to pass intermediate or even matric to enroll in a course. Also, if you want to spend some productive time while waiting for your F.Sc Pre-Engineering result, then enrolling in short courses like below is a great way.
CNC Milling/Lathe Machine (02 months)
Dies & Mould Technology (03 months)
Machine Shop Practice (06 months)
Basic Machine Techniques (03 months)
Computer Application (02 months
Hardware and Software (3 months & 6 months)

Getting admission in the Pre-Engineering group is not hard at all. Even if you’re a below-average student, you are still eligible for admission to this group. However, it is extremely important to learn the exact information regarding the eligibility criteria for Pre-Engineering.
The most important thing is to pass your matric exams. That’s it! If you have passed your matriculation exams, you are eligible to apply for the Pre-Engineering group. Besides, it is advised that you secure at least 68-70% marks in your matriculation to secure your admission to a decent and reputed college.
Do the F.Sc Pre-Engineering subjects sound discomforting? Maybe Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics don’t sound too friendly, right? Don’t worry, where there’s Nearpeer, there’s a way!
Pre-Engineering isn’t easy for those who have to get up early at 8, go to college every day and the worst part is to go to the academy every day in the evening. When do they spend their family time? When do they take out some time for themselves? All this and a lot more can be managed if you study online with Nearpeer on your device from the comfort of your home.
Attend the lectures at any time of the day and decide to learn what you want, when you want, how you want, how much you want, and how fast you want. Wanna see an amazing demo of our video lectures?
